~ Immortal ~

In ancient Chinese history, there was once a great emperor, named Zhao Zheng, or rather known as Shih Huang-Ti, Emperor Qin. This emperor was the first Shih/Qin dynasty emperor. He was also the first to conquered and united China. Other than that, after his achievement of uniting the country, he created the Imperial Seal using He Shi Bi, the well-known jade. On this seal, words of "Having received the Mandate from Heaven, may lead a long and prosperous life." was craved onto the it. Besides, in his later life, Emperor Qin believes in longevity. He believes in 'Elixir of Life'. However, until his death, he could not prove the truth of it.

If given the chance of living forever, would you choose the path?

In the positive point of view, immortality means living forever. It means you have the time to do whatever you wish for. There is no time limit for anything. You will be having the chance of watching the change of the world, civilization, culture, knowledge, and many more. You will also have the chance of eternal youth and beauty.

However, You will be suffering the death of your close ones. Family. Friends. Your beloved. Even if you were given the chance to bring them, would they want to suffer in that way?

Let's say if you survived the first few hundreds years, how about the rest? You still need to face the same thing for the next hundreds, thousands, millions years, until somehow you are destroyed from this life.

Immortality does not mean everything good. In fabled tales, ancient Chinese Gods are known to be cold and heartless. There were sayings that one must abandoned their feelings, their cares, their possessions, in order to become one of the higher beings. Thus, if a person is given the chance of immortality, after a period of time, the person would not have a care to the normal people. Then what is the use of living forever, if you would be bored of it anyway in the end?
